Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with bilingual and/or ESL endorsement
• Strong understanding of Illinois Learning Standards
• Experience working with limited English proficient students
• Knowledge of instructional planning, testing, and language assessments
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with parents, guardians, and school personnel
• Minimum 2 years experience teaching, currently working full time in education

Position Description

As a Bilingual Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that limited English proficient students have the tools to succeed academically and socially. You will be responsible for lesson planning, administering language assessments, and implementing effective instructional strategies that address language barriers and align with Chicago Public Schools' policies and Illinois Learning Standards. Additionally, you will assess student progress, collaborate with families, and maintain a positive and disciplined learning environment. This role requires creativity, cultural sensitivity, and a strong commitment to student success.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district and state standards
• Administer language assessments and track student progress
• Apply effective instructional strategies for bilingual students
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, and staff to support student goals
• Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and academic achievements
• Establish and enforce responsible rules of conduct
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and in-service programs
• Coordinate and attend field trips, extracurricular, and after-school activities

Salary Range

USD $64,000 - $80,000 annually
